Jorge Nocedal wins Dantzig Prize at 2012 ISMPJorge Nocedal, who holds a courtesy appointment in EECS, has been awarded the George B. Dantzig prize at the recent ISMP meeting in Berlin.  Awarded jointly by SIAM and the Mathematical Optimization Society, the prize recognizes research, which by its originality, breadth, and scope, is having a major impact on the field of mathematical programming.  See www.mathopt.org/ for more information.
