NU Women in Computing

We are Northwestern Women In Computing

NUWiC is an organization for women interested in computer science and related fields. We help to guide women academically and professionally, by hosting hack nights, interview prep and monthly lunches. We also organize a group to go to Grace Hopper, the premier female computing conference in the country.

Each year we host and attend a variety of events. These include monthly lunches, general meetings, hackathons, interview prep and much more. Check out our Facebook page for more information.

Grace Hopper

Each year we attend Grace Hopper, a large conference celebrating women in computer sciences. This year, a group of almost 20 women traveled down to Texas for the proceedings.

Hack Nights

NuWiC's hack night are an informal gatherings to work on projects, learn about different technologies or just to work on homework.

We host a variety of talks with various members of the faculty and wider Chicago area each year. Here, Ben Slivka gave a talk about leadership.

Career Day

As part of our outreach to the community, we host a career day for young women interested in computing and STEM.
