Open Positions
in Prof. Qi Zhu's Group in EECS@Northwestern
Our
research focuses on design automation methodologies, algorithms and
software tools for creating intelligent cyber-physical systems and
Internet-of-Things applications, e.g., autonomous and semi-autonomous
vehicles, vehicular networks, industrial automation systems, smart
buildings, wearable devices, and robots. Some of our current projects
include software synthesis for safety-critical cyber-physical systems
(e.g., vehicles and robots), cyber-physical security (e.g., for vehicular
network applications), energy-efficient smart buildings and
infrastructures, and adaptive and extensible intelligent systems (e.g.,
UAVs for search and rescue). We are also actively exploring new
directions, and you could be driving such exploration.
Northwestern
University
is a private university based in Evanston, Illinois. It is well known for
both its graduate and undergraduate programs. According to US News,
Northwestern ranks #24 in Best Global Universities. Its undergraduate
program ranks #11 in National Universities. Its graduate program ranks #19
in Best Engineering Schools, #24 in Computer Engineering, #26 in
Electrical Engineering, and #34 in Computer Science. Northwestern is also
known for its highly-ranked business school (Kellogg), law school
(Pritzker), journalism school (Medill), medical school (Feinberg), and
music school (Bienen). You will have ample opportunities to expand your
vision, and grow not only as a scholar and engineer but as an all-around
person. You are also encouraged to use 20% of your time to explore new
interdisciplinary research directions that may leverage the world-class
expertise Northwestern provides in various fields.
Evanston
locates just to the north of Chicago and along the shores of Lake
Michigan. It is safe, convenient, beautiful and fun. You will be provided
with full and generous financial support, and many opportunities to
collaborate with our partners in academia and industry.
