I/O Benchmarks
It is important to identify the effect of I/O access pattern characteristics on various storage platforms. To that end I have used many I/O benchmarks including BTIO, tile visualization, fusion codes, combustion codes and FLASH checkpointing. I have also written a couple of benchmarks. The first, HPIO (a flexible access pattern generator), is described further here. I have also written a parallel-search simulator based on database segmentation that mimics mpiBLAST access patterns called S3aSim, which is available here.
