Shortly after my MS, I tried to apply the background in logic and deductive databases towards formalizing active databases and workrlows. Subsequently, some of the problems that I encountered turned out to be "tackle-able" by reactive management, except the context of those problem-domains had a strong influence on how that reactive behavior is managed and implemented. While the initial efforts went towards the spatio-temporal data management, subsequently I have worked towards a more general paradigm (ECA^2) and employing some of the ideas in the context of WSNs.
